“People are Staring” is Andy’s first large-scale solo show in Richmond. His process involves working from photos he has taken and then translating those through collaging with surfaces he has painted. Speaking about his creative routine, the artist says, “Routines saved my life. Repitition is what keeps me in line with humanity and what makes it possible for me to paint. This bleeds into my work as I try to color code my understanding of human behavior.”
When asked about this body of work, Harris said “My latest works have steered towards creating drama, about heroes and villains, fears and pleasure.”
